Technological University of the Shannon Strengthens Academic Partnerships in India

A high-level delegation from the Technological University of the Shannon recently visited New Delhi, dedicated to strengthening existing educational ties and fostering new ones. This visit headed by TUS President Prof. Vincent Cunnane and Vice President of Internationalisation & Alumni, Donnacha

McNamara interacted with institutes like Amity University, Bennett University, Geeta University, Jamia Milia Islamia, Hindu College to encourage student exchange, and new collaboration with Indian institutions, further promoting Ireland’s global status as one of the best destinations for higher education.

Celebrating the success of TUS's growing community of South Asian students, the delegation engaged in a panel discussion, and a presentation. A networking event with prominent Indian educational leaders and institutions was also held to give a platform to highlight the university's achievements in applied learning, industry integration, and innovation. The presentation of TUS also made a statement of its QS 5-Star status and commitment towards partnerships that guarantee to provide Indian students with academic excellence together with practical industry experience.

Commenting on the visit, TUS President Prof Vincent Cunnane said, "TUS is committed to developing global partnerships that improve not only educational experiences but also contribute positively to society. Our engagement with our partners in India reflects our commitment to deliver Indian students a comprehensive, industry-focused education that equips them for tomorrow's world."

Echoing his thoughts, TUS Vice President Donnacha McNamara added “We were delighted to engage with our partners in New Delhi and celebrate shared values of excellence, innovation, and global integration. We are highly focused at converging efforts in supporting the pursuit for quality higher education by Indian students and look forward to further collaborations notably within the areas of dual and blended programs.

The delegation also highlighted TUS's tailored programs for Indian students in fields such as IT, Pharma, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, and Engineering. It combines the excellence of a research-driven education with relevant industrial experience through specialized small class sizes, and applied learning. Programs such as Digital Marketing and Analytics and Product Design Control offer placement options to give the students hands-on exposure to industry.

This visit epitomizes the successful commitment of TUS to grow its Indian student community. Currently, more than 350 students from South Asia are enrolled with TUS, whose number is expected to grow further by popular demand for industry-relevant programs, a friendly and safe environment, and good graduate employability. This delegation visit has further provided interested Indian students with greater access to world-class educational resources and career-building opportunities as well as opened doors for collaborations between interested Indian schools and Universities and TUS.
