Registration opened for the 4th Annual Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing India(GHCI) Conference 2013. The annual conference, presented by the Anita Borg Institute (ABI) and the Association of Computing Machinery India (ACM India), is the largest gathering of women in computing in India.
Participants can register online for the
Conference, which will take place at the Lalit Ashok Hotel-Bangalore, from November 13-15, 2013.
This year’s theme 'Together We Rise' encourages women in computing to collaborate across many different facets of the industry to create a larger and stronger network of women within the technical community
The Grace Hopper Celebration is designed to bring the research and career interests of women in computing to the forefront. Leading researchers present their current work, while special sessions focus on the role of women in today’s technology fields, including computer science, information technology, research and engineering.
"This is a landmark conference that brings together the many women technologists in the Indian technology sector to share & discuss critical information, latest innovations and techniques in the world of technology”, said Ms. Geetha Kannan, India Head, Anita Borg Institute.
“There's no question that the global technology landscape is dramatically changing, so it's vital that women technologists engage with each other to understand not only the roles they play in the industry but how they can learn from each other”, she added
Highlights of the Conference will include Women Entrepreneur Quest, a Career Fair for Students, and a Woman-Led Hackathon, in addition to the core conference sessions with over 120 speakers, presenters and workshop leaders. 2013 keynote speakers include Ms. Kumud M. Srinivasan, President, Intel India, Ms. Anjali Arora, Vice President, Software Development Administrative and Financial Solutions, Allscripts & Ms. Aruna Jayanthi, Chief Executive Officer, Capgemini India
